An Introduction

Yes, yes, this is yet another blog added onto the vast expanse of the Internet. Whether it's cliche or just a normal way of expressing one's self, much like a public journal, starting my own blog has been on my bucket list for a few years now. In fact I've claimed this space for the last year without working on one post. The biggest thing holding me back was where to start.

I've rolled several ideas around in my head trying to get around the initial post or two. Everyone likes to read blogs that are well established, not ones that have only one or two entries. So, I decided to start by introducing myself and sharing a few of my favorite things each day this week.

Well, I'm going to skip the introductions, because that's just awkward, and let's face it, people follow blogs for the pictures and only read when a picture needs explaining.

One of my recent muses is hammered metal. Lamps, vases, napkin rings, I love it all. In fact, my wonderful family must have gotten my hints after watching me drool every time I found something hammered metal at the store. My mom got me this amazing set of silverware:

I haven't even used it yet because it's too pretty for everyday wear and tear. So I've been peeking in the silverware drawer everyday. I swear I'll use it soon.

My mother-in-law got me this gorgeous hammered tray. I love it so much, I couldn't resist using it for my New Year's Eve party.

I know... I love them both so much but I can't use one and use the other the first chance I get. Don't ask me to try to explain the thought process behind that one.

West Elm has a whole set of serveware in hammered metal that I am currently lusting over.

I know it's super trendy, but I really like the shiny, textured look. Tomorrow I'm going to show you something else I love, but I don't actually have in my house... yet.
